The Ruakuri Cave tour was an stunning experience! From the ticket booking to the tour -- well planned and customer centric. The guide was well explained and friendly. Recommended...
This was a great start to my vacation! Having to change my clothes to participate was a bit of a surprise but I'm so happy I did! Ash, the tour guude, was so funny and his cousin Michelle were so friendly and welcoming. It was definitely a trek through rocks nd water that came up to my thighs, which I didn't expect, but it was well worth it to see the glow worms up close. Ash took some fantastic photos and I was shocked that I got access to them in just a few days. I HIGHLY recommend this tour to anyone who is up for an adventure. Also, having them provide tea and cookies (biscuits as the New Zealanders say) afterwards was a great finish to the tour!
Our guide was exceptional and what we saw had a touch of mystic. We could feel the mana of the cave and learned about its importance in Maori culture!
Amazing to see the tunnels and the guide was amazing and efficient
The boat trip, serene and beautiful.
The tour is nice but we are not sure the trip to reach the cave from Rotorua was really worth it. The tour is quite short and the pictures we saw on the websites don't really depict the reality of what the Glowworm cave really is. By the way it is interesting to know the value of this area for the Maori and the history behind its discovery
Exorbitant tour! The guide was awesome and showed my friend and me everything (he was also patient, because he had no problem to delay the tour, until our flat tire was repaired. The tour itself was magnificent: The river, the climbing-passages, the narrow passages, eternal darkness, the glowworms (pictures permitted!) ... just wow! You also got clothing for the tour and tea, cookies and the chance for a hot shower after you're back. I can only recommend this tour!
The guides were nice and had a good sense of humour, the impromptu song in the main cavern was super special! We all really enjoyed the magic of the boat ride.
It was fascinating and informative, although we couldn't enjoy the whole cave. Due to ongoing rain, the cave was flooded, so we couldn't take the boat. We just walked down to the dome and watched from there. You can see a small part of the glowworms. Guide was great. We got half price back. Would have been nice to know, when we booked the tickets (one day prior to the visit) that most of the cave was closed. Then I wozld have chosen another day to get the whole expirience.
The river part of the trip was closed due to flooding. I expected to be contacted ahead of time if this was the case. We had gone out of our way to get there. The tour of the cave was half price but without glow worms it was less than half the experience. Disappointing.
Great tours by Taylor and Callie thank you for sharing your knowledge with us we had a great time. Also a big shout out to the reception staff who helped me to book and rearrange our times to make sure we could fit in the 2 tours. It was a long drive for us but was definitely worth the visit.
Tour started on time and was very organized. Guide told interesting things and was knowledgeable about the cave and the worms.
Kia ora. Our family had a great tour and were impressed with the tour guide, and attention to safety. It wa an experience we won't forget.
Ticketing experience was great. Roads very clean and accessible. The whole experience was systematic and well-organized. Plenty of parking (30-40 cars) and clean restrooms. Restaurant and cafe inside if a quick bite is needed before/after the tour. The limestone caves were beautiful and the glowworms on the boat ride were a surreal experience. Guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Gift shop was expensive and overrated -- we know that as we had already visited several stores earlier and the ticket prices here were by far the highest. After the experience, there is the option to go on a few short trails, either to the village or to a lookout point.
Ticketing was easy. Access and parking good. Very tidy and organised. The caves were amazing and beautiful. Our guide Big T was excellent I feel embarrassed I cannot remember his real name he is a very good guide and made the experience that much more worthwhile . My kids loved it and I would recommend this to others for sure. Thank you.
Absolutely loved the whole experience. The guide was amazing and happy to answer any questions. Was a little disappointed that we couldn't do the whole boat ride experience due to the weather conditions for the past few weeks but was definitely worth the time, money and energy to go and have a look
most of the staff were friendly. they assisted with access queries for disabled company. they offered an earlier time slot than what we scheduled, if preferred. the guide we had was also very accommodating! the interior of the cave structure was well done, ensuring the people on different tours where times almost overlap, did not cause any congestion. the experience was diverse but the boat ride itself was disappointing in the sense that there wasn't really much 'tour around' that happened. Although, the sight was to behold indeed.
Our young guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining He sang in the cathedral cave with a beautiful voice. The boat ride through the glow worm cave was awesome.
Levi our tour guide was awesome and the caves was amazing everyone should do this tour magnificent tour learnt a lot about the glowworms 5 star ⭐️
Our tour guide was amazing, knowledgeable and funny. Seeing the caves and then glowworms was awesome, definitely recommend as a must do.
I appreciated that the tour guides were descendents of Chief Tanetinorau. Being onthe boat and gently gliding on the water as we looked up at the glowworms was a very soothing and beautiful experience.
This was a brilliant morning. We were in such good hands. Our guide, Ash, was informative and extremely entertaining, but most important of all we felt we were in safe hands. We were in a lovely small group of 6. We were fully kitted out with clothes (which did get wet!), boots, helmet and headlamp. Upon our return we enjoyed hot drinks and cookies whilst 'debriefing'. The caves were beautiful and the 10 minutes we sat in silence and darkness with the roof of the cave lit by the glowworms was just magical. The morning did involve wading through water, and clambering over and under rocks, but because Ash was so supportive it all felt very manageable. The icing on the cake was receiving a lovely collection of photos which Ash had taken during our adventure. Thank you Ash for a truly memorable morning, and also Michelle back at base for helping get us kitted out.
The detailed guided tour ...... all the history and knowledge our guide had was amazing 🤩 George was such a lovely person full of knowledge and kindness ♥️
The guide was great, knew his stuff and was also lots of fun. The float through the cave was a really great experience. We were also lucky enough to have a couple of singers in our group that put on a great show in the cathedral.
Personally enjoyed the boat ride most.

Didn't have printed tickets but worked well from my mobile. Bus driver ASH was excellent. Good commentary with some humour.
Convenience although buses were too full, too many standing. And drivers were lovely, funny and informative 😊
The convenience of being able to choose what we wanted to do during our day on Waiheke Island. It was very ease to get on and off at each stop. Also knowing that there would be a bus passed every 20 minutes made our day easy. All the drivers and guides were extremely friendly and informative. You could tell that they enjoyed their job.
In general the HOHO service is quite comfortable and convenient, plus staff was accomodating and friendly! The only drawback is the issue that it took us a while to collect our tickets at ferry teminal in Central Auckland for the staff didn't find the reservation in the system.
Great experiance and the best way to Discovery the beautiful Waiheke 👍
ease to book. ease to get around on the island. many drop off sites.

The convenience of not driving and the pleasure of seeing! The bus height enable expansive view. The 30 mins frequency allowed for quick visits and then back on the bus. The bus warmth as the day cooled.
Patient drivers and helpful staff. Buses were on time. Hop on and off whenever we like. Able to fully explore Auckland in one day, visiting many attractions. Totally free and easy itinerary, relaxing yet fun.
Usual worthwhile experience when visiting a new city. Sadly our first bus was a single Decker so we found the view restricted. Second bus was open topped so fab!
The audio system on the bus was not working properly. There was a lot of static and the commentary was cutting in and out. Most of the 90 minutes tour there was no audio commentary. Another passenger told the driver, who said sorry but couldn't fix it.
the busses were not on time. Had to wait for almost an hour for one and over 35 minutes for others. The person that claimed to be in charge at one stop a lady in her 50s was very arrogant and claimed to have designed the routes. Well a good design without sufficient busses leads to this review.
I had a great experience and orientation tour on Auckland City with the Explorer Bus. Awesome service and excellent routing on Auckland.
The ticketing and bus stops was staright forward. The route taken by the Bus for the Blue and Red tour's stopped at some varied places. With buses every 20 mins, it was easy to hop on and off at places of interest. Good information from drivers. I would recomend this tour as a way to get to know Auckland.
Great way to see a bit of Auckland in a short amount of time.
I liked the route that goes across all interesting and picturesque places in Auckland, comfortable bus providing access to amazing views, audio guide telling interesting things about history and places. And of course an opportunity to hop on and off!)
The tour changed from red to blue tour at a stop, BUT there was no indication that was going to happen. No indication from the bus driver or announcement. Most people on the bus were annoyed.
Buses were great, did have covered seating on top level, which was needed since it rained a lot while we were there. Narration was interesting and easy to understand. Appreciated not having to use 'ear buds'. We appreciated that we could do both the red line and the blue line without having to get off and change buses. The first day, when it was raining, we just stayed on board and figured out which stops we wanted to go back to (had 2 day tickets!) This was our main way of getting around Auckland and it worked out well for us.
Easy to do and I liked that the bus changed to and from red and blue tour at the junction point. This saved getting of there if you didn't want to. I wasn't so impressdc with the end time. This meant I had to leave the mueseum an hour before it closed so I had time to get back to the centre, surely you could extend the service an hour so visitors could remain at difreent attractions until they closed?
Buses run frequently so didn't have to worry about getting back to the shop place that was on the route were interesting especially the war museum
The tour was fine, a good way to see varied parts of Auckland. What we didn't like was that there was not one downtown departure point for each tour; it was annoying to have to redo part of the tour of one colour in order to get back to the starting place of the other tour.
Loved the flexibility ! Loved seeing the entire city of Sydney Loved the narrated tour Loved city on top of the open bus where you could see & hear & feel the city Loved the economical cost My package also had the hop on ferry and the Sydney eye included
Ease of booking online and securing tickets at any stop. The stops all had interesting sights to be seen and experienced.
The number of really good places it stopped. We had pre-purchased tickets and printed them with codes which were accepted at the bus door. YOU NEED AN APP THAT TRACKS WHERE THE BUSSES ARE AND HOW FAR AWAY. We were at the war memorial waiting for a BLUE bus. Spoke to the handler there and he took a long time to tell us 15 minutes for the next blue bus. Took WAY longer than that AND 3 red busses came through in the meantime. Annoying.

Super interesting, extraordinary guide!
It was great - was able to take lots of pics and it was an achievable walk for someone with low fitness
Being so close to the glow worms. Guide (We) definitely has a passion for the cave and his family links to it.
Loved the walk. It was well worth the money. The caves were amazing. The tour guide was very good.
venue and guide great and informative. folowed instructions on website for tickets but did not realise i had to down load an app to get tickets . iam older than 60 and downloading stuff onto a computer can be a challenge, would prefer to just print tickets straight of without having to have an app . followed up on the site and tickets were sent so i could print straight of, any way thats me and computers just prefer old school , thanks Mike
Paid and had to postpone due to bad weather, didn't recieve any confirmation emails of the new date - poor customer service.
Our guided tour was amazing! The guide was knowledgeable and funny, and we much enjoyed it. Beautiful natural formations in the caves and few small areas with glow worms. Easy walks manageable for all.
The Guide Lee was really good an tikd us a Lot of Background Informations. And the Glow-Worms are so cute 😁 and the cave is amazing . We loved the Tour. Take Always a Jacket with you ☺️
Everything was awesome the tour guide was lovely so helpful friendly well worth the cost

The Labyrinth Blackwater rafting experience has been one of the highlights during our NZ holiday. Our guide was amazing, she was knowledgeable, kind and fun to be with. The glo worms were like twinkling starlight as we floated under them. The booking and ticketing was a breeze. Will definitely be recommending to friends.
Aria and Evie knew so much and made it a fantastic experience. We loved the cave and glowworms.
The guides were great and the experience is pretty incredible
The event was cancelled due to weather but I was not notified until I finally got in contact with the venue just before I was about to start a 3 hour drive to get there.
The was truly a once in a lifetime experience! It was a fantastic combination of adrenaline rush fun, interesting local and cultural knowledge, and marveling at the natural world. Our guides were knowledgeable, fun, and kind. We felt at ease and well looked after throughout. I would highly recommend this experience.
Epic experience! Our guides Isaac and Grace weee amazing. Our daughter Elly who is claustrophobic freaked out a little at the start and they were so good at calming and encouraging her and she was able to enjoy the experience. Gloworms and adventure all in one!!
Great experience with good guides. Only suggestion for your photos options at the end of the tour : none were showing the glow worms... The only photos of the worms are the ones from your web site.
Ticketing ahead of time was easy and everything ran smoothly. The adventure itself was over the top fun because it's such a unique experience and more than a little exciting. We had two great gals Hailey and Grace as our fearless leaders and they kept the jokes coming and we all felt confident following their instructions -even when they had us flinging ourselves backwards over a waterfall. What's not to love?? We had the A Team ! Highly recommend this trip - do it while you can.
It was really well organised and our two guides did an amazing job! It was an adventurous experience and the glowwormes were amazing.
Knowledgable guides, chatty and super patient. Lots of scrambling and climbing rocks which was great. Tubing is really fun, the amount of glowworms was a little disappointing but a very fun experience.
The Labyrinth was great fun, with a lovely bunch of people and great guides. The glow worms were amazing. The guides were very careful and everything felt very safe and comfortable.
Ellen and Paddy were awesome guides!!
The glow worms were awesome and the guide was detailed and experienced. Great experience!

Ellen and Paddy were awesome guides!!
Excellent tour with excellent guides Hannah and Katie. Despite being in our sixties and a little nervous ( although reasonably fit) we had a great afternoon. The guides explained everything and were attentive and watchful and we felt in safe competent hands. The highlight was floating through the black caves seeing the vivid glowworm show above us.
My partner and I had a great time doing this! I’m somewhat apprehensive when it comes to water (especially in the dark) but really wanted to do something different to see the glow worms and I’m so glad I did. Felt completely safe the whole time and had great fun. Definitely recommend.
This was an unbelievable experience. The glow worms were very cool to see, but more notably, we had a great group and excellent guides! I was a bit worried my mother would struggle but the guides did a great job helping her! The chauffeur they provided to the rafting sight was very comfy, and their entire staff was welcoming and made it a worthwhile trip!
The guides were great at communicating whilst keeping the tour fun. Hands down one of the best experiences I've had!
One of the best things i've ever done in NZ. Such a unique experience and amazing friendly instructors we had such a good time!
The black abyss tour was absolutely incredible! For something that I'd been looking forward to for so long it's surprising that it actually exceeded expectations. The staff were all fabulous and accommodating even when we were late to the location. It doesn't hurt that our guides George and Mitch were also 🔥.
George and Mitch were amazing and super funny. We had such a great time. Thanks!

Fantastic time zip lining through the trees. Great laughs together as we worked our way through the course. Our guide was excellent.

Explaining to our mixed ability group so that everyone felt comfortable & able to take part & really enjoy the adventure - happy to recommend this & plan to return with family.
We had a great time! A family with two kids - 9 and 12 Years old. Rob and Kelly are lovely people. We had a lot of fun and felt very safe. Thank you for this exciting family adventure!
This was an amazing experience! A must do for anyone who is in the Waitomo area. Rob and Kelsey were really great and made sure that we had a great time ziplining!
The teaching on the small runs and building up to the fast ones was perfect. I really loved the speed of the lines. Well worth it and one of my favorite activities so far in New Zealand.
